Re: OS at 66000
There's an option to go to 66000 which apparently we will try to take up from 2017. It's 60000 for next season.

Re: OS at 66000
We are currently at 60,000.

IF we want to go up to 66,000 then it requires further planning proposals and additional works to the stadium which I believe WE would have to pay for.

I wouldn't expect to see that happen for a few years as they wait to see if the take up of the OS STs holds.

67,016 actually.

Re: OS at 66000
Will we fill 60k? I know we've sold loads of season tickets, but thousands of them will be £100 kids tickets, which won't get used unless for the big matches

Re: OS at 66000
We'd fill 160k Ed don't you know...

Champions league for a couple of seasons and we will.

Or our owners sell to some foreigners and they pay for an expansion.

Re: OS at 66000
So we could go from being the number 1 club at filling our ground, to the worst? Fuck that.

The only way this move is going to really work, (and I'm talking about matchday experience here) is if we pack out every game next season and the one after. Then, when we look to expand, that expansion revolves around a fundamental design change that includes filling the ridiculous gaps between tiers, when in football mode, and getting the front rows right up to the pitch.

It's not going to happen is it?

Re: OS at 66000
If they price it right I have no doubt we could fill 66k no problem....

I'm guessing the 6k seats are going to be band 5 so more £289 seats

Re: OS at 66000
Nope, hence why Tottenham had the right idea in knocking it down and starting again.

The Upper Tier was only built to be temporary anyway, not sure it has a lifespan beyond 20-30 years...

I assume you was just as sarcastic about us selling out 54,000?

Re: OS at 66000
I think that is the big risk here.

I managed to get a ticket in the BMU for the Watford game, which bearing in mind it was one of the last 3 home games, had loads of empty Season Ticket holder seats, which if mirrored in the OS will mean loads of empty spaces, and at £100 per season ticket there will be no incentive to give up the seats.

Re: OS at 66000
Remember when everyone on here said we wouldn't sell out 54,000 for years and it was going to be a half empty stadium.

Then we did before we even played a match there...

Then we got an expansion to 60,000 and sold all them too....

Made few people must be proper gutted with all that.

Re: OS at 66000
Eerie.

I don't think anyone involved with the club doubted we had the fan base to be one of the biggest clubs in the country. The issue is - at what cost? If we'd had the same plans as Tottenham, and still won the day, being able to knock the place down and build a purpose built stadium, I reckon everyone would be ecstatic now. It's been proven how difficult it can be to move into the "big league" and not lose your mojo as a club. Factor our ground change into that, and I just honestly feel for our identity going forward.

Hold my hands up I was shocked at the uptake of STs.

Fair fucks!

I dont recall anyone saying we wouldnt fill it?

i-Ron 3:18 Sun May 15
Re: OS at 66000
Remember when people said they'd boycott West Ham because it would be a half empty soulless concrete bowl

Then we sold out, expanded, sold out, and they were part of the reason for this, having renewed despite threatening a boycott...

Brilliant.

Re: OS at 66000
Yep the sets are there already and easy to up the capacity ' if next season goes well pretty sure we will have 66k capacity stadium very soon

BulphanIron 3:19 Sun May 15
Re: OS at 66000
I'd love some names of who said they'd boycott it like...

Don't remember many saying that?

penners28 3:20 Sun May 15
Re: OS at 66000
Who ron? Name some names

i-Ron 3:23 Sun May 15
Re: OS at 66000
Remember when people stated they'd boycott several times, then pretended they didn't, after they'd renewed and helped us expand the stadium.
